Darby man to run for State House seat
KPAX Television, Missoula, MT
Peter Rosten of Darby has announced that he’ll be running for the Montana State Legislature in House District 87.
Rosten is the creator of the Media Arts in the Public Schools program which encourages entrepreneurship and community based economic development to teens in western Montana.
Rosten says one of the reasons why he’s running is to try and improve the political process.
“I think the system is broken. I’m not just talking about Montana, I’m talking about American politics. We’ve invested so much time and energy yelling at each other, that the people’s business doesn’t get done, it’s become more of a partisanship than taking care of our own.”
Rosten adds that he hopes if people decide to leave Montana it won’t be because they can’t make a living here. He also believes that if good jobs can be created in Montana then the state’s infrastructure can be improved.
He also wants to find a way to equitably tax tourists, but exempt all Montanans from that tax.
